Phi Delta Kappa International - News Release
Greetings Members!
October 2002

Phi Delta Kappa International's Center for Professional Development and Services is pleased to inform you that we are beginning a campaign that will offer our training opportunities directly to the Canadian school systems. All of our training opportunities are customized to the specific needs of the schools or districts in which we work and the workshop itself is delivered at your location.

In our first promotional mailing this month to Canadian school superintendents, we are offering four professional development training opportunities that we feel will benefit any teaching staff and ultimately the students. All address best classroom teaching practices.

Adapting Your Teaching to Any Learning Style

Meeting the Needs of the Gifted Student

Increase Student Success Through Reading and Writing in the Content Area

Currently, The Center for Professional Development and Services offers over forty workshops covering leadership topics, training in mentoring new and beginning teachers, curriculum and instruction issues, and "just in time trainings" for new and beginning teachers. For a complete list of everything that we offer, please visit our web site at www.pdkintl.org

If you have questions or would like to discuss the possibilities of bringing any of these workshops to your district, please call or email Jeanne Storm
jstorm@pdkintl.org
Professional Development Coordinator.

Phi Delta Kappa International is excited to be reaching out to our Canadian neighbors by offering these workshops and we look forward to delivering professional development!

Thank you for your time. Comments are always welcome.

Please share this with your chapter!

OUR MISSION: We know, we believe, and we support that professional development is an intentional process, that it is ongoing, and that it is systemic. We know that it must be integrated within school improvement planning and it must focus on student improvement. It must be based on well-documented research, and it must be tailored to the needs of the participants and delivered to them at their site.
